Take three giant companies: Verizon, Apple, and Riot. Have each come together to launch three different products at the same time: the Verizon 5G Network, iPhone 12 Pro and League of Legends: Wild Rift. What does that mean?
Okay, well aside from late nights, it also means an awesome opportunity.
Enter the Verizon 5G Wild Rift Invitational. The first-of-its-kind 5G League of Legends tournament.
The set had to blend both Riot’s and Verizon’s brand identity and game elements, keep the players (and staff) safe from Covid, and work with the tech side on Verizon so that the right materials as used to maximize 5G performance, for a milestone esports moment that hasn’t been seen before.
No joke. 2.5 million livestreams happened that night; the 2nd biggest Twitch Rivals stream in history.
The only thing that wasn’t really there were trolls in the chat. Consider that another milestone.
